Rest Day

Not much happening on the beautiful island of Guadeloupe today. After yesterday's epic volcano hike, Mario and I are both feeling a little bit worn out. Today seemed like the perfect day to just hang around the house and chill. He read a book borrowed from a previous Airbnb rental, while I browsed through travel guides, planning our next few days.

Tomorrow, we head down the hill to the ferry, and cross the water to Les Saintes for a couple of days. There are beaches to visit and hiking to be had, and we want to be properly rested before undertaking any more strenuous hill-climbing again. We did take a brief walk through town, just to stretch our legs for a bit. We encountered a woman selling sorbet coco, which we of course had to sample, a curious doggo looking for friends, and made our usual stops at Kaza Manjé for chicken, and the bakery for fresh baguette.

An overnight bag sits packed next to the front door, and our hiking boots are dried and ready to go. Tomorrow, we head to Les Saintes!
